Region Awards

The success of the NRM region relies on the hard work and commitment of a large team of volunteers passionate about snowsports. The office and board know who many of these dedicated individuals are, but we also know there many out there who give of themselves everyday and are not recognized.

Help us recognize those NRM members who have had a positive impact on you, the organization and snowsports as a whole. Do you know someone with contagious enthusiasm for instructing snowsports, a benevolent individual who has committed hours to an extensive NRM project or a role model with a long-time history with the organization? Nominate him/her to receive an award this spring.

This award recognizes exceptional members who developed and implemented programs, projects, and procedures affecting the association on a regional level while demonstrating dedication, devotion and self-sacrifice serving in their role.

Candidates:

  • Designed and implemented programs, projects, and procedures affecting the association on a regional level.
  • Exhibited dedication, devotion and self-sacrifice serving in regional and/or national level leadership positions.
  • Have a history of 10 years or more sustained outstanding service.

Who is eligible? Members with 10 years or more sustained outstanding service.
Who can make a nomination? PSIA-AASI NRM Board of Directors, committees and PSIA-AASI NRM members.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to support the success of PSIA-AASI NRM and its members.

Candidates:

  • Made important contributions that have added to the success of PSIA-AASI NRM and its members on a regional scale.
  • Displayed long-term commitment and dedication by providing educational programming or support.
  • Demonstrated positive leadership skills.
  • Fostered connections with and between members or served as a mentor.

Who is eligible? Members and non-members including, but not limited to, staff, vendors and industry partners.
Who can make a nomination? PSIA-AASI NRM Board of Directors, committees and PSIA-AASI NRM members.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

 

This award recognizes members who have distinguished themselves by completing an extensive special project benefiting NRM members and/or the snowsports industry.

Candidates:

  • Completed a special project related to improving snowsports education.
  • Added significantly to, and possibly even changed, the educational direction of PSIA-AASI NRM.
  • Exhibited dedication, devotion and self-sacrifice contributing to the PSIA-AASI NRM education system.

Who is eligible? Members.
Who can make a nomination? PSIA-AASI NRM Board of Directors, committees and PSIA-AASI NRM members.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

This award recognizes enthusiastic dual-discipline members who have been long-time participants in NRM education events and who are positive role models.

Candidates:

  • Hold certifications in at least two different snowsports disciplines.
  • Are good role models and have a positive impact on their peers.
  • Have actively participated in educational clinics for a sustained period of time.

Who is eligible? Members (active, inactive or alumni).
Who can make a nomination? PSIA-AASI NRM Board of Directors, committees and PSIA-AASI NRM members.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

This award recognizes members who demonstrated positive leadership within their snowsports school or region through consistent collaboration, communication and cooperation with peers and guests – they serve as role models for others.

Candidates:

  • Consistently collaborates, communicates and cooperates with guests, peers, school management and other departments.
  • Demonstrate, through their behavior, the positive leadership essential to the success of their peers, schools and resort.
  • Volunteer when positive action is needed within their school and region.
  • Are recognized as role models.

Who is eligible? Members who work at a snowsports school.
Who can make a nomination? Snowsports school, resort management or peers (PSIA-AASI members and non-members).
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

This award recognizes standout members who show promise charting a career path within the snowsports industry.

Candidates:

  • Demonstrate positive leadership behavior within the snowsports industry.
  • Show extraordinary promise charting a career path.
  • Serve as a volunteer leader.
  • Distinguish themselves in a fashion that is truly exemplary.

Who is eligible? Standout up-and-coming leaders in the snowsports industry (must be a PSIA-AASI NRM member).
Who can make a nomination?  Snow sports school directors/managers and peers.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

This award recognizes members who scored at the highest percentile in people, teaching and skiing or snowboarding technical knowledge; and who empowered other candidates during the level II or III assessment process.

Candidates:

  • Scored at the highest percentile in all three categories (teaching, people and technical) in their level II or III assessment.
  • Demonstrated exemplary willingness to empower other event candidates to achieve success during their assessments.
  • Showed exceptional compassion and understanding for the needs of others.
  • Elevated peer performance for a more positive assessment environment.

Who is eligible? Members who have successfully completed their Level II or III certification. (Must be nominated within two seasons after they complete their assessment and receive their certification.)
Who can make a nomination? Regional education staff or event managers.
Deadline: March 1 at 11:59 Mountain Time.

Nomination and selection process:
Nominations must be submitted in writing (email or print) to the CEO (hdavis@psia-nrm.org) with backup documentation (letters, etc.). Nominations may be made by any member of PSIA-AASI NRM in good standing.

The Executive Director reviews the nominations, conducts necessary research, and submits the nominations to the Board for approval. Only one PSIA-AASI NRM member is selected to receive each award each year except for the Service Award. There is no minimum or maximum number of Service Awards given per year.
