NRM Children's Specialist Program Children’s Specialist a History The Accreditated Children’s Educator was created for NRM by Marie Shaw and company to supplement the need for Children’s Education and Accreditation for NRM members. With your Children’s Specialist 1 or 2 you will be recognized through out the USA at all PSIA- AASI member schools as being a highly qualified children’s educator. The Children’s Specialist 2 is a pre-requisite in many divisions, including NRM, to become a member of the divisional education staff. It is also required in order to try out for the National Teams. The Children’s Specialist Credentialing program came out of a need to unify standards and curriculum across PSIA-AASI so we are all on the same page. For instance when a instructor from another division comes to NRM or vice versa. The instructor’s new school can have a clear idea of that persons experience and knowledge is when it comes to working with children in snowsports.
