*The annual Freestyle Jam at Great Divide, now dubbed "ProPark": This winter PSIA-AASI NRM’s freestyle coaches - the Iron Team - will be teaming up with Great Divide Ski Area to put on the annual ProPark event. This one-day event is offered to ski area employees and/or snowsports shop employees in the state of Montana. The event combines NRM’s professionally trained coaches and the Smart Style education program to promote freestyle/terrain park safety and personal rider improvement. The Smart Style www.terrainparksafety.org is a national freestyle safety program developed by Burton Snowboard and the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) to foster safe use of freestyle terrain by staff and the public alike.
NOTE: This event is by invite only. Advanced registration is required. If you are a PSIA-AASI member and would like to receive 6 ed credits for attending the Freestyle Jam, choose the $20 registration.

Train the Trainer: This one-day event is held the Friday of Fall Festival. Join the DCE staff for a day of sharing ideas on how to improve your training techniques to improve staff education and prepare instructors for further advancement in PSIA. This event is free for trainers who are employed at ski schools that are current members of PSIA-NRM. This event is intended for trainers who are not part of the DCE program.

Event Registration FAQs

How do register for an event?
To register for an event click on the event name (blue hyperlink) in the event calendar. Note: You will need you PSIA-AASI member number to login. If there is not a blue hyperlink for the event you want to register for then registration is not yet available for that event. Check back in a couple weeks.

Can I register the day of the event?
There is no event day registration.

Is there a registration deadline?
Yes. Registration deadline is two weeks prior to the event’s start date. A $50 late fee applies to registrations made within two weeks of the start date. If payment is not received by the event start date, registration will be canceled.

Can I register after the deadline?
It depends. Registrations made after the two-week deadline are on a space available basis and will not be guaranteed. If participant numbers have not reached maximum, registration may be allowed but will incur the late registration fee ($50).

Are lift tickets included?
No, lift tickets are not included in event price. Ticket rates are determined by the host area. For events hosted in MT, employees of MT ski areas can use their MSAA cards for complimentary tickets. The rates below are from the 2011-2012 season as reference.

  • Big Sky Resort: Free lift tickets with MSAA card and season pass from home resort. PSIA-AASI NRM event participants without MSAA cards will receive a 50% discount off the daily lift ticket rate provided that the participant is a PSIA-AASI member in good-standing (standard daily rate is $84, so discounted ticket is $42). Purchase lift tickets at the Snowsport School.
  • Bridger Bowl: Free lift tickets with MSAA card. PSIA-AASI NRM event participants without MSAA cards will receive complimentary lift tickets provided that the participant is a PSIA/AASI member in good-standing.
  • Red Lodge Mountain: Free lift tickets to PSIA-AASI NRM event participants provided that the participant is a PSIA-AASI member in good-standing. Employees of MT ski areas, must present MSAA tickets to receive free tickets. If you are not eligible at your mountain for these tickets, your Snowsports School Director or GM must send Eliza Kuntz snowsports@redlodgemountain.com a list of names that need tickets AHEAD of time. Out of state participants will need to provide Eliza with the same list since you are not eligible for MSAA cards.

What is the min/max participant number for events?
The minimum number of participants for an event is six. If there are fewer than six individuals registered for an event two weeks prior to the event, the event may be canceled or rescheduled.

The maximum number of participants is twelve for educational clinics and eight for exams. If registration numbers exceed these maximum numbers, additional clinic/exam groups may be created provided the new group numbers meet minimum number requirements.

Will an event be cancelled if it has less than the minimum number of participants?
Yes, if minimum numbers are not met 2-weeks prior to the event, the event will be cancelled. Registrants will be contacted and refunded (or given credit toward another event). Whenever possible efforts will be made to reschedule.

If I cancel will I be refunded the registration fee?
Should cancellation become necessary seven days or more before the event, registration fees will be refunded less a $10 cancellation fee. Within seven days of the event half of the registration fee will be refunded. No refunds will be given if requested on the day of the event or later. All refund requests must be made directly to the NRM office.
